Today as I was trying to get him to nap he said " mommy, after all this I won't get out of breath anymore when I run." so sweet. Also today when we were out an about he looked down at his chest tube and said, " is that my blood" I said yes, then he said " coming from my chest?.....I think we need to take it back to the room and dump it in the trash" I find that one funny because they are always talking about how much his chest tubes are "dumping." he picks up on everything.

Post op day 7
Lucas is getting stronger and stronger. He told us today "I don't want to be in bed anymore." He requested to eat lunch in a chair with the bedside table stand. Love that. We spent a lot of time out of the room today. Playing, walking, coloring, cuddling, reading books on the couches, and playing House and cars with daddy in the play room. He is balancing and taking several steps on his own. His only real limitation are the wires, tubes and cords we have to drag behind him. His legs are still a little shaky but getting better. Anyone who's been in bed for several days will need Bit of time to regain leg strength. He's doing great , he is motivated to play!

I am a soon to be adoptive mom of a foster child that I have had in my care for 19 months. "J" has tricuspid atresia and is going to have his third heart surgery this summer. I've never been through anything like this with any of my children....they've all been healthy, so I would really like to email you sometimes if I could. I have been following your blog for a while now and I have been praying for Lucas. I am so glad he seems to be doing well and on the road to recovery. My email is dlhefflin@hotmail.com I will continue to pray for your family.
