April 23, 2009 we welcomed our first child into the world. We are very excited to be parents, although quite nervous as he has a severe congenital heart defect called tricuspid atresia. This defect requires a series of three surgeries in order to allow the heart to function. We do not know what the future holds for our family, but we believe that he has being given to us for a reason, we are excited to show him a life of love and happiness.

Post Op Day 3-Cuddle Bug
We got to cuddle with our little man today! Lucas has been down and asking to be held every time he had pain or checkups done on him. He was so happy to be held and we think he finally felt safe. He even fell asleep on me for quite a while.
