So, before every meal Lucas has gotten into the routine of going in and going to the bathroom and washing his hands. He usually comes out and has me smell the sweet (albiet temporary) smell of soap on his hands. He proudly puts up one after the other, lets me give the seal of approval..and then as he walks to the table..usually says something along the lines of "mmm they smell good." But today after Lunch he was quite messy (hence the temporary part earlier) and so I asked him to go wash his hands again...well he was gone for quite some time.. (no wonder our water bill is out of control). I thought he was in there scrubbing his hands.. but he comes out a while later and this is how the conversation goes:

L: Mommy smell them..(holding up his hands one by one)
M: Mmm, they smell good buddy.
L: Then he sticks out his tongue and puts it in my nose area,
M: Umm, what are you doing?
L: My tongue was really dirty too mommy, so I cleaned it really hard.
M: Really hard? You cleaned your tongue?
L: Yes, I scrubbed it with soap and water, but the soap was yucky so I just used water.


This is so Lucas, he is always testing out life and his limits. He is the best! To know this boy is to love him!
