Happy New Year

Happy New Year! I apologize for the delay between posts, as Claire gets more active, I have less time to actually sit down. She celebrated 10 months this past week on the 6th. On Jan 1 she decided to start the New Year off by showing us what's in store...she took four steps. She definitely is still crawling, and getting much faster every day, but will take a step here and there when she feels like showing off. Of course after we get excited for her accomplishment Lucas has to demonstrate how he can carefully walk too... he can't let her have a moment to herself :). I remember with Lucas the whole process of actually being a steady walker took quite some time and I am perfectly fine with that.

Both of the kids have had a nasty GI bug this past week. We again are dealing with massive amounts of laundry and disinfecting. We are on day four and hoping it is coming to an end soon. Both have been in good spirits despite all of it.

We hope you have a wonderful New Year. We are looking forward to 2012. We will celebrate Lucas turning 3, Claire turning 1, and me turning "too much" as Lucas would say, and five years of marriage. We are so thankful for our sweet little ones.

We are REALLY looking forward to having Lucas' surgery behind us, the anticipation is harder than I would have ever imagined. We are thankful for all of our family and friends who have already stepped up and offered to help. Believe me we are going to need A LOT of it come the last week in March. Please keep Lucas and our family in your prayers as we figure out how to best prepare him for this endeavor. Every time I try to mention it lately, he says, "mommy I don't need surgery, I don't need to go to the hospital" Then followed by (which breaks me heart) "It won't hurt mommy???????"

Look at those sweet rolls. I know it isn't very accurate but on our little scale she weighs over 24lbs. We'll see in a month or so when she has her next set of immunizations. Happy 10 months princess!
