Thanksgiving

Thankful does not begin to describe the deep feelings of gratitude we have during this season. We have had such an amazing year. One year ago we would have never guessed all the changes a year could bring for our family. During this time of thanksgiving we are giving thanks for Lucas thriving and doing so well and for a healthy baby #2, not to mention my pretty amazing hard working husband. Every day we laugh and are amazed by Lucas, he shocks us daily with his new words and funny personality. Today is his 19 month birthday and I was singing him Happy Birthday and he said clear as day "happy birthday," wow. That is probably normal, but I just love each new word and phrase. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We took a day trip up to Murphy's CA to enjoy the Fall season. My secret motive was to get some great pictures with all of the beautiful colors. I don't want to spoil our holiday pictures so I have only posted one! Lucas is sharing his leaf!!

Hi Buddy

I just had to document this. When Peter comes home from work Lucas is usually waiting at the window for him to pull into the court and then when Peter is approaching the front door Lucas runs over so he is right there when the door opens. He loves his daddy. Usually when Peter sees Lucas he says 'Hi Buddy' and picks him up to give him some love. Well yesterday when Peter walked through the door Lucas beat him to it. In his most excited voice Lucas shouted "Hiiiii Budddy." So wonderful! It is one of those things that Peter says subconsciously everyday but Lucas obviously has noticed a trend. Then last night we ran an errand after dinner and when Peter went to get Lucas out of the car seat Lucas again said "hi buddy!" This morning Lucas actually slept in a bit past the time Peter had left for work (that is rare), when this happens the first thing Lucas does is scour the house for daddy. Well today he went to his side of the bed, lifted up the sheet and said "buddy?" Melt my heart. He certainly is daddy's little buddy!

Halloween

Lucas was a pumpkin for Halloween. We only took him to a few of the neighbors houses to go trick or treating. Before we went out we practiced at home and Lucas was very good at saying "tick teat." He even got better when he realized he got something when he said it. He has no idea what candy is, but I guess just the idea of getting 'something' every time he said those words was very exciting. Right before we left we got a group of about ten kids at our door, it really overwhelmed Lucas and so he was shy the rest of the night, but at least we captured him "tick teating" on camera at our house and then we had fun visiting the neighbors.
