His first haircut was a wonderful experience and now he no longer has to peer through brown locks, he looks like a little boy now.

The Real Deal
The time had finally come. Lucas was in desperate need of a REAL haircut. I was desperatley wanting to keep his curly locks but Peter pointed out the other night that Lucas had a 'rat tail', so we had to do it. I took him to our local barber shop and I was a bit skeptical because I figured they didn't do many little boys first haircuts. Boy, was I wrong. After the first cut they saved his hair and put in in an envelope for me to keep. He got a certificate for his big day. They also took a picture that they will give me at our next visit. Amazing first hair cut experience. Lucas was an angel, he was smiling most of the time, but of course I seem to click the picture just as he is done smiling for the moment. He told his barber 'hi' about twenty times.. no surprise there it is still his favorite word.

15 Months
Lucas is 15 months old today! What is he doing at this age...
He is on the move. We took him to a school near our home the other day and he just took off running. He didn't look back. Peter and I wondered how far he would go...well we didn't wait to find out, but I think he would have kept going as far as he could. He is very proud of his walking/running.
He is really trying to have conversations. Although most words are incomprehensible, they mean something to him and he gets frustrated when I don't understand. He still doesn't say momma very often but yesterday when I asked him 'where's your momma' he pointed to me and leaned over and gave me a kiss. I'll take it. He is such a momma's boy right now and I am loving it!
He can stack 4-5 blocks, and after he stacks each one he cheers for himself. Sometimes he will be playing in his room and I will hear some loud cheering, when I peek my head in I realize he has stacked a block.. YAY!
The temper tantrums are still with us. We are choosing to ignore these (well at least we are trying).
Lucas is becoming a bit of a picky eater. He LOVES fruit, if it were up to him he could eat fruit all day. We are trying to get him back interested in veggies.. but if he knows there is a peach in the house he just yells.. 'PEEEEE PEEEE't and throws the veggies on the floor. Last night I put lemon on his broccoli and he loved it. Maybe that will be our new tactic, cover the veggies in fruit juice. :).
My favorite things about Lucas right now is when he climbs up on the couch or wherever we are sitting and says 'ticcccckle ticcckle ticckle' he loves his feet tickled and he loves to tickle our toes. I also love how cuddly he has been. I often think because of the way Lucas started his life he never really loved to be cuddled as a baby. But now he is all about it and it is soooo wonderful!
I think also an honorable mention in this post is his sleeping patterns. At night I will rock him (he never used to like to be rocked) and he will drink his milk then when he starts to get squirmy I take him in his room, he points to his crib, and I lay him down. He is still awake and I leave the room and he soothes himself to sleep. Can I get an AMEN! To most this may seem normal, but for us sleeping has been an issue since day one. He would always scream and fight going in his crib unless he was sound asleep. So for us this is such an amazing turn of events!
The picture below shows the position Lucas assumes when he wakes up from his afternoon nap. As soon as he gets his bearings about him and is fully awake he runs toward the front window saying 'daddy daddy.' Although daddy usually doesn't get home quite that early Lucas knows that dadddy comes home after his afternoon nap. The excitement in his voice when he finally see's the white Tahoe pulling into the court is priceless. This is also where Lucas parks it when daddy is working in the yards, as you can see in the distance Peter is hard at work while Lucas says 'hi' every time he passes the window! He loves his daddy!

What doesn't belong?
This picture was taken a few weeks ago when we were rearranging some furniture, I look over and Lucas has made himself very comfortable on the bottom shelf!
I have always said Lucas is SUCH a boy.. but even more so lately. He hides, climbs, chases, eats dirt, throws rocks, etc. Daddy had his first full weekend alone with Lucas as I had to work.. and Lucas can now almost open bedroom doors and he has learned how to turn on the dishwasher, coincidence, I think not! Last night after his bath, he stood up, assumed the appropriate position and peed all over the bath mat, when he was done he laughed and ran away..oh boy! He loves his daddy!!
