Can you believe it. Out baby boy is almost a year old. He is at such a fun stage and we are loving every minute of it. He is turning into quite the ham.. and is playing more and more games with us. He loves to hide behind something and when we say 'where's baby lucas' he pops his head out and laughs. He also does the same thing with blankets. He loves to be chased when he is crawling (especially by daddy)...if you don't follow him when he takes off with a huge grin, he gets a bit upset. His main (and first) word is 'bye bye' and he is actually starting to use in the appropriate context. Amazing! Occasionally out of no where and totally unexpectedly, he'll yell..'hiiiii.' at the top of his lungs. He tries to say Cooper, our dog, it comes out like..'ooppppah.' I am still waiting for momma, I guess the dog is more fun! He is standing on everything and is beginning to 'cruise' more and more around the furniture.
The other day Lucas did something so crazy, I just feel the need to share it. He pushed over a box to the side of the couch, crawled up onto the box and used it to boost himself onto the couch. There was a book up there he REALLY wanted I guess. We have a bit of a climber on our hands, scary. As we are quickly approaching his birthday, I am overwhelmed with feelings of gratitude for Lucas. He makes our lives so rich and full... and still sleepless:).
We are adjusting to a bit of a different life right now. Peter recently got a new job that has him commuting pretty far. We will be moving soon, but life is crazy busy..hence still no pictures. Sorry, they will be coming soon!
Much love to our little 10 monther!

Gymnast
We now have a gymnast on our hands. For the past few weeks Lucas has been learning that he can pull up on everything I mean everything, couches, bar stools, his toys, glass doors, his crib, play pen, basically anything with a bit of height. Nothing is left un-stood up on. With the new gymnastics moves also comes his fair share of tumbling. Needless to say, as he develops his new sleek moves he has had a surge of bruises lately. I expressed my concern to our cardiologist about his new found activity level while he is on aspirin, but it doesn't seem like it will be a problem.
Lucas is going through a phase of no longer enjoying his toys; instead things like candles, picture frames, remote controls, shoes, and items in cupboards are suddenly much more interesting and entertaining. He is keeping us busy to say the least. I can't believe it but he turned nine months old in Jan. We had a cardiology appointment late Jan. His sats were 85% (yay), he weighed in at almost 21 pounds, and he grew two inches since his last check up, making him 28 inches tall.
I know some of you are going to think...'finally' but Lucas got his first hair cut this past weekend. It wasn't a full trim, my mom just trimmed up the bangs, but even so he looks so dapper with his new hairdo. Of course I kept his curly locks for the baby book.
(I want to post so many pictures, but we have recently run out of space on our computer, imagine that, and I am not savvy enough to learn how to work the external hard drive. Pictures will be coming soon)
